Code of Ethics not clear on negotiating commission down.

by Bryn Kaufman on 4:07 pm November 7, 2016

Mass Code of Ethics confusion is the best way to describe what happened when I inquired in a Facebook Group about an ethics violation another Broker said I committed during our negotiation when I requested he reduce his commission. Many said it was an ethics violation, many said it was not, and after close to 400 comments about it, I found my answer. First, however, I want to let you know what happened. I represented the seller, and we were negotiating back and forth verbally … Read More »

I asked Seth Price, VP of Marketing at Placester, to answer a few of your questions.  We speak fairly frankly on this blog, so I tried to get to the meat of the critics’ concerns as quickly as possible. $5/mo websites are attractive to agents, but many wonder if prices will go up later, advertising will be added, etc. There seems … Read More »

nar wins rights to sell new tad .realestate

Recently NAR announced that they had “won the rights” to offer .realtor as a top level domain. Today they have announced they have also garnered control of .realestate as an additional TLD service offering. They said that “business rules” and pricing of the domain would be available in Q2 2015. Over the past few years a slew new TLD’s have been provided to registrars, none have created the kind of “land rush” that was expected. You’ll certainly see the first half million .realtor domains go … Read More »
