If you can’t get excited about 3D printed homes in the developing world for $4,000 for those living in extreme poverty, well…I don’t know what to say. Congrats to New Story and ICON. Simply amazing work (short video here).

I backed the “I Will Never Give Up” project a few minutes ago. Story telling doesn’t get much better than this. My name is Mike Yung and I am a subway singer from New York City. I was signed to RCA at 14, then T.Electric with the likes of Etta James and Luther Vandross. The label went bankrupt and I never got my debut album out. I’ve spent the past 38 years in the subway busking and making a living while supporting a family in … Read More »

There’s more social good in real estate to report! Lanier Property Group, a boutique brokerage in Wilmington, North Carolina, has signed on as a Giveback Homes brokerage partner. You can read the press release here. The giving keeps going… PS #1: The “Inspiration Lab” by Stephanie looks like an amazing initiative. PS #2: I still wonder why more agents and brokerages in the Seattle market aren’t doing more.

I was pleased to find another socially conscious brokerage this week — Giving Tree Realty in Charlotte. Short video: It’s no surprise I love their about page… What makes Giving Tree Realty different than all the other real estate companies? Our company is built upon a foundation of giving. I poked around their website, and found this: How is Lemonade’s business different from that of a traditional insurance carrier? Traditional insurance companies make money by keeping the money they don’t pay out in claims. This means whenever they pay your claim, they lose profit. This is why getting your claims … Read More »

I’m a big fan of what I see from GiveRealty; how can you not be when you realize they have donated over $700,000 to charities? I actually came across their work in 2013, but took another look this morning and wanted to highlight two specific things on their website. First, their concrete giving examples on their how we give page: Second, their video… Keep the giving going!
