In our latest real estate tech entrepreneur interview, we’re speaking with the founder of Trust Stamp, Andrew Gowasack.

What do you do?
Trust Stamp is a leading-edge technology company that develops and deploys proprietary artificial intelligence solutions to authenticate trusted identities. As a Second Century Ventures® portfolio company, we made a long-term commitment to developing innovative solutions to promote Realtor® safety and success. In under two minutes and for less than a cup of coffee, our Realty tool establishes the identity and trustworthiness of a stranger, to better help Realtors® stay safe and protect clients and their home or property.
What problem does your product/service solve?
Each year, the NAR annual safety report finds that between 30K-40K Realtors® have been assaulted or robbed at some point during their career, and nearly 40% have found themselves in situations where they have feared for their safety or the safety of their personal information. Traditional background checks are expensive and many agents do not want to carry a self defense weapon.
What are you most excited about right now?
Heather Elias has recently joined the Trust Stamp team as CMO and I couldn’t be more thrilled! She has been immersed in the real estate industry for 14 years, starting as a full time Realtor® in 2004. She quickly establishing herself as an industry innovator by using blogging and digital marketing to build her business. She later served as NAR’s Director of Social Business Practice, managing the trade associations social and digital strategy, before returning to the brokerage world to drive CENTURY 21 Redwood’s branding and communications efforts. Now as Trust Stamp’s CMO, she will enable us to better communicate with and gather feedback from agents and industry leaders. We will use this feedback to improve and innovate solutions to promote agent safety and success.
What’s next for you?
Based on this learning during our beta, we will launch Trust Stamp Express with fewer registration steps, enabling agents to verify prospects in less than 30 seconds! Trust Stamp Express will also introduce a new (optional) financial prequalification for prospects. This feature helps agents understand a client’s financial capabilities and predilection to buy before they head out to view homes.
What’s a cause you’re passionate about and why?
I and the entire Trust Stamp team are avid supporters of the Atlanta startup ecosystem. I know that there are many bright and talented people who have great ideas or just wanting to learn more about startup life. As members of the Atlanta Technology Village we adhere to the “pay it forward” culture and have a committed office space as well as funds for those with full-time jobs/studies to have an environment to learn more about entrepreneurship from our team.
