Can You “Platform” Community?

Arnold Waldstein wrote an interesting post the other day titled “Can you platform community?“.

It’s a topic I think about non stop, given community is what I’m most passionate about enabling in this world. I KNOW community changes lives for the better, and if I had to boil down the “why am I still working on Horizon” answer, that would be the answer (the slightly longer answer is here).

I fundamentally believe an agents and brokers are in the business of community building. If you don’t build community, your business isn’t likely to grow much. It’s still beyond my comprehension as to why more brokerages aren’t investing in and operating co-working spaces.

Once you read the post, would love to hear your thoughts – either here in the comments, or on Arnold’s blog.

Do you know of some agents that are successfully doing this and if so how do they do it?
