In our latest real estate tech interview, I’m talking to Bill Burnett, founder of PointDrive. Without further adieu, here’s a bit more from his own mouth…

What do you do?

BillBurnettI’m founder and CEO of PointDrive, a sales presentation tool that helps real estate professionals, among others, present information to their prospects and clients in a smarter, more polished way that, in turn, delivers engagement insights and analytics.

Why do You Do What you Do?

Throughout my career as a sales professional and business owner, I consistently found myself looking for more efficient ways to communicate with my prospects and work more efficiently. In my last role as CEO of Fippex, I developed a stronger appreciation and understanding of sales strategies and technologies and identified the specific need for a product like PointDrive. Our sales-oriented application enables sales professionals to present and track their content in an alluring way. It’s the tool I always wished I had as a sales professional and now we use it everyday ourselves.

What are you most excited about right now?

Two things come to mind immediately. The first is the overall response we’ve seen and experienced with PointDrive so far. When you initially launch a product like this, no matter how confident you are in the solution, you never really know how successful it will be until the customers show you. Having just launched PointDrive in October, we’ve seen significant adoption and know that we’re on the right track.

The second thing I’m most excited about is the team we’ve been able to assemble at PointDrive. Without the well rounded and incredibly talented members of our small team, we certainly wouldn’t have been able to build PointDrive to be what it is today. I’m thankful that we were able to recruit people that are passionate about their work and excited about what we’re doing.

What’s next for you?

Our next major product release is right around the corner and is filled with exciting features and new functionality, many of which are a direct result of active feedback from our current customers. We’ll now support team accounts, allowing sales reps to share presentations with one another and sales managers to monitor the use and engagement trends within PointDrive. We’ll also support social sharing of presentations and provide additional security controls, such as password protected presentations. This new version of PointDrive will allow us to attract additional enterprise customers, such as @Properties, while also further benefiting the individual users that currently use PointDrive.

What’s a cause you’re passionate about and why?

I actively serve on the board of the Cohn Weil Memorial MS Outing, a charity golf event that raises over 1 million dollars each year at the single day event. The proceeds benefit important research, programs and services that improve the lives of more than 20,000 people affected by MS in Illinois.
