In our latest real estate tech interview, I’m talking to John Thomas, CEO of Deductr. Without further adieu, here’s a bit more from his own mouth…

What do you do?

johnthomasI love growing small businesses! I also love technology. So I’ve spent over 20 years growing small technology related companies.

Why do You Do What you Do?

I believe that small/independent businesses drive our economy and specifically make this country great. I love the fluid environment of small business and I love having a direct impact on results. I also love building teams and investing in people.

What are you most excited about right now?

Deductr is really gaining traction with independent business owners who are using it to track their business expenses, mileage and time – and thus maximize their deductions. Our partnership with the National Association of REALTORS and specifically our participation in NAR’s REach program is opening exciting new doors for us in the real estate industry.

What’s next for you?

Making Deductr a household name in the real estate industry so that we can help real estate professionals save time, money, and stress!

What’s a cause you’re passionate about and why?

I spend 15-20 hours a week as a lay minister working with college age single adults. It is one of the most rewarding things I’ve done in my life as I have the privilege of working with some of the greatest young people on earth. While the world today often looks like a scary if not hopeless place, I find great hope in being around bright, intelligent, confident, honest and faithful young people who are the leaders of tomorrow and who truly will change the world!
