In our latest real estate tech interview, I’m talking to Will Caldwell, founder of Dizzle. Without further adieu, here’s a bit more from his own mouth…

What do you do?

willcaldwellI am cofounder and CEO at Dizzle building innovative mobile products for the real estate industry. We build apps for agents designed to engage clients long after closing keeping their realtor top of mind.

Why do You Do What you Do?

I love building technology products for the real estate industry, and this is what drives me to innovate in this space. Growing up in Real Estate, I knew I wanted to work in the industry, and my passion for technology led me to combine the two while in college. Starting my junior year, I built my first app for my mom’s real estate business. Soon after the launch of that app, other agents reached out to me for their own app. From that point on, I set out to scale up this business to the entire industry.

What are you most excited about right now?

Mobile. The explosion of mobile growth in real estate is unprecedented, and the opportunity to build innovative products at this time could not be better. The ubiquitous nature of smartphones is allowing us to build the products of the future. We believe we can build the mobile solution to ensure agents continually follow up with their clients long after handing them the keys.

Along with innovating in the mobile real estate space, I am excited to build the Dizzle team here in San Diego. We just received seed funding from prominent San Diego entrepreneur James Brennan, who also has a real estate background as a top mortgage broker.

What’s next for you?

Delivering real time relevant information to realtors’ and their clients’ smartphones automatically. By engaging users with information they care about is a compelling way to keep users engaged with their agent’s app. Driving user engagement is our goal, and by doing so we help agents stay top of mind with their clients.

What’s a cause you’re passionate about and why?

I am passionate about growing the start up culture in San Diego, and I am the founder of the San Diego Young Entrepreneur Network. Bringing together link minded young entrepreneurs produces a lot of provoking conversation and brings together people from all different backgrounds. It is fun and exciting as San Diego in general is attracting more tech start-ups and capital.
