david eedleIn our third “Meet the Real Estate Tech Entrepreneur” interview, we’re talking to David Eedle the founder of REMessenger; an online newsletter builder for real estate professionals.

Here’s a bit about him…

1) What do you do?

I’m the founder of REmessenger.com, and a long time online business entrepreneur.

2) Why do you do what you do?

I created REmessenger as a result of a partnership opportunity with leading US real estate news company Inman News – our users are able to create and distribute newsletters incorporating stories from Inman.

We’ve been trialing since last year with a bank as the first corporate customer, and a group of individual users.

We’re solving the problem of professional advisors wanting to use email and social media to build relationships – but having neither the time nor expertise to create their own quality content. Instead we offer a huge library of up to date industry news they can use, as well as writing their own stories if they wish.

I’ve been passionate about online content and its distribution for 13 years, I founded artshub.com, an arts and entertainment industry news and jobs service, in 2000. At the time everyone told us we were completely mad – that nobody would pay a subscription for online content! We proved them wrong – when we sold the business 6 years later we had thousands of paid subscribers across the world. And we did the same again with a site focussed on the TV and film industry.

3) What are you most excited about right now?

The world economy seems to finally be turning the corner, economic indicators are slowly moving into positive territory, so many industries will need to start rebuilding and re-energizing – including real estate. We’ve been working hard on our REmessenger product for some time in anticipation that real estate agents will be looking for new tools to take advantage of improved conditions.

4) What’s next for you?

We have a product roadmap a mile long – so many exciting ideas to move REmessenger beyond its core offering of content rich newsletters. The big challenges now are to balance that rollout with significantly lifting our marketing efforts to bring in new customers.

5) What’s a cause you’re passionate about and why?

Supporting children with disabilities – my youngest child has Downs Syndrome, she’s now nearly 7 years old, but endured bouts of severe epilepsy as a baby, and then open heart surgery when 2 years old, along with follow up surgery and other procedures. At the moment I’m training to be a family support volunteer at our local childrens hospital because I’d like to return the favour in some small way to the amazing staff there who have looked after my daughter over the years.
