A New Foreclosure Listings WordPress Plugin from Foreclosure.com
For those of you interested in getting foreclosure listings on your blog, Foreclosure.com has a new foreclosure listings wordpress plugin you should try out. I haven’t seen this plugin on a live blog yet, but if you try it out, please leave a link in the comments as to where we can see it (I’ll add a link to the first 2 implementations I see in this blog post).
Implementation Examples:

Posted at 11:45h, 03 MarchI installed it on TPREG (near bottom of far right sidebar for now.
Interesting, as it generates a page with the search results.
Need to play around with styling and such, but is definitely interesting…
Waiting on my “RSP” number. Some sort of affiliate program, but it appears to be functional without it.

Posted at 11:55h, 03 MarchThanks Jay. Why am I not surprised you are an early adopter 🙂
I think the plugin needs some sort of map interface rather than just a list of properties…

Posted at 06:47h, 04 MarchDrew,
We’ve been looking at this option for a few months, just haven’t executed yet. Since I have an FHA niche blog, my strategy is to write content that reaches buyers who are searching for Rehab Loans or FTHB programs, and then provide the foreclosures on the site as a little eye candy.
The main objective would be to develop new business for our real estate partners. Not sure how the logistics will work, but we’re excited to give it a fair test.
I have a friend with this already on his site – http://tucson-fha-loans.com/ –
I’m going to do my best to get that up this morning so that we can make your list, if you want to make an exception for the first 3. 🙂

Posted at 23:20h, 05 MarchDrew, my bad, I thought that I updated this post yesterday.
I’ve got it up on my site, but haven’t messed around with the links or anything quite yet. I’ll beat it up a little and see how it works.
Thanks,
mm

Posted at 20:52h, 17 AprilI’ve been toying with the different functions and ways of promoting it on the site. Just pulled it off the navigation bar to see if it made a difference with traffic. I have received a few leads in the contact form, but still working on a way to tie it all together.
Basically, I see potential for someone who wanted to spend a bunch of time trying to figure out a creative way of delivering a valuable user experience without taking the focus off of the main purpose of a blog.

Posted at 14:44h, 20 AprilI am in the process of setting it up on one of my Las Vegas real estate blogs, so I’ll let you know how it goes.

Posted at 14:57h, 28 AprilI just removed this from my site. It was sucking up a tremendous amount of CPU usage (based on my hosts statistics) — more than any other function on my blog.
It wasn’t used much by visitors, though admittedly it’s placement on the page was far from optimal.

Posted at 16:13h, 22 MayI threw it on my blog. Was there for about 6 months. I ended up taking it off…
Couple things I didn’t like:
It’s not well integrated into the wordpress programming:
a. It doesn’t work with your permalink structure.
b. It won’t interface to any sitemap plugins.
c. When there is an update it won’t tell you on your plugin page.
And the TWO deal killers for me:
1. I was showing TONS of traffic on my blog, but the affiliate interface didn’t show any traffic.
2. Customers were calling me telling me they purchased the service and I never registered one sale on the interface.
Support didn’t seem all that concerned…They said they’d look into it but never got back to me.
