Fatdoor, Bringing Robots to a Neighborhood Near You
There are a ton of social networks focused on neighborhoods. Nextdoor (prior coverage) is likely the largest and most well known.
Fatdoor is re-launching. With robots.
Truthfully, this just makes me sigh.
For those who want to connect with your neighbors with robots, you can sign up for the re-launch here.
Me?
Not interested.
Why?
I don’t believe robots improve the world. If we’re not careful, we’re going to turn into human robots who sit in front of the television and computer all day, and literally not do a damn thing ourselves. I don’t know about you, but I don’t see that as a better world than actually interacting with people on a daily basis…face to face.
But that’s just me.

Posted at 08:55h, 12 JuneMy high school friend and I talked about this for a good 30 minutes last night…the societal impact of robots, self driving cars, etc.
In short, neither of us think those things are good for the world in the grand scheme of things.
This is precisely why the new app we are building has a fundamental goal of getting people off the fucking computer/phone…and go meet someone in person and experience real life. Real life does not happen staring at a screen or interacting with a robot all day.
