Google Apps and Salesforce Team Up
Though TopProducer seems to be the most popular CRM tool in the real estate industry, I know some real estate professionals use Salesforce.com as their customer relationship management application. As of today, those of you using Salesforce have some new tools at your disposal — Google Apps!
Salesforce for Google Apps integrates Gmail, Google Talk, Google Docs, and Google Calendar directly into your Salesforce interface — this seems certain to result in some productivity improvements for Salesforce customers.
For those SF customers, I’d love to hear your thoughts on this new integration. I use Salesforce to keep track of my business contacts and conversations, and I think the most valuable part of this partnership will be the integration of Gmail. Most notably, the automatic e-mail tracking (assuming you use Gmail as your mail client).
Here’s a video demo for those interested:
On a broader scale, Salesforce for Google Apps is bound to put some further heat on Microsoft as Google attempts to eat into Microsoft’s enterprise level customers — immediate access to 41,000 enterprise customers is great exposure for Google Apps.
Official blog post from Salesforce.com — or there’s plenty of commentary on Techmeme for those interested.
