iPad to Big Screen TV
Imagine spending an hour with your clients flipping through listing photos on your iPad — but the results displaying on a huge 42 inch (or larger) television mounted on your office wall. Or even using a projector. No more huddling around an iPad.
That day is coming with iOS5.

Posted at 12:44h, 27 SeptemberHere in Charleston, SC we’ve had big screens and mac-minis since 2007 in our “Office of the Future”, but the introduction of this capability is going to change everything for us and how we interact with our clients. We’ve got the iPads and Apple TV lying in wait, ready for our hot little swipes the minute iOS5 comes out. Hurry up Apple!

Posted at 05:21h, 28 SeptemberDrew,
We have had a “Viewing Room” complete with leather couches and huge wall mounted big screen TV for previewing listings in our office since opening in 2003. Next door ( and viewable through a window) is the “Kids Play Room” complete with its own wall mounted TV, Playstation, DVD player, Toys, etc.

I should add in our first office building in Newport News we have a coffee shop / restaurant where all agents have a charge accounts . Lytle Title (Our Partner) has an office within as well as a dedicated office for our lender partners to use on a rotational basis. ( they man it 5-7 days a week). Our Law Firm partner ( Lytle Law) maintains their law office upstairs. Agents have the use of several meeting/ conference rooms throughout the building. There is a “Rookie Room” where agents start off after graduating from our rookie classes. As agents progress they are assigned semi private or private offices depending on need and volumes.
In our second building in Williamsburg we started out having an in house interior decorating firm, Sadly they couldn’t sustain themselves and the additional overhead required and its now used by the title company. We were going to put a cafe in but a restaurant was built across the street , so no need. . Both offices have large meeting rooms upstairs for sales meetings and training. In the second one we installed theater seating to make meetings more convenient. Of course they both have LCD projectors, etc.
These are not the trendy open spaces I have seen in other markets, but personally I prefer the private spaces since most agents are “LOUD talkers”
I’m sure I missing a lot. Maybe I can send you photos ?

Posted at 06:30h, 28 SeptemberYou can already do this with iPad 2 and an AV cable, they make one cable for HDMI and another for composite I believe. Been using the HDMI cable from the iPad2 to a projector for a while now, works great!

Posted at 09:23h, 29 SeptemberYou should chat with Dominic at m squared. My hunch is you two would get a long great, and could help each other with various ideas on how to dominate your respective markets..
