iPhone 3G Fixes Coming This Friday
Spencer and I have both switched over to the iPhone in the past month from Verizon. While we both love the iPhone overall, there are certainly cons. Two major negatives mentioned in his video comparing the iPhone to the Blackberry are that the iPhone can only (legally) be used on the AT&T network and the minimal battery life. I have seriously had more dropped calls in the last 3 weeks than I have in the last 3 years on the Verizon Network, which is very frustrating for both me and the people I’m talking to. I’m not as much of a power user as Spencer, so the battery life is not AS much of an issue for me as it is for him, but it’s still a pain in the rear to have to charge my phone every day. That wasn’t the case with my old phone.
However — we’re in luck!! According to CNET, those issues will be fixed with the 2.1 software update Apple is planning to make available on Friday:
Specifically, the fix should bring fewer dropped calls, battery life improvements, no crashes with applications and faster backups.
I’m looking forward to the updates…and hope they work as promised.
