Jott to Word Press
The first thing I learned after trying to Jott to Word Press, is that it goes live! If you don’t know what I’m talking about, check out my last post on Jott. After I Jotted, I went over to my computer and saw that my new post was already up. It didn’t place my Jott blog in a draft folder, or anything like that…it just went to the top of Geek Estate’s blog list.
Obviously, this can be an issue if you want to edit, or proofread your blog, before you post them. Not only does Jott post your blog immediately, it also offers the reader, or in this case, listener, the option of listening to exactly what you said. This is good in the sense that if the translation is poor, but not so great if you’re self-conscious about your radio voice.
Another thing I noticed is that you can only record for about 30 seconds – after that, it just cuts you off and posts whatever you got in. Again, I don’t think the Jott blogging function is ideal, but I suppose if you had some great idea, or you really wanted to get something down on…computer, this would be an option. But, I think I’d probably opt to Jott to “myself” and go home, listen to my Jott and then write my blog.
As you can see, some of the words were not translated correctly and some words were not turned into text. Is this something people will use? I guess it depends on the blog, but I don’t see myself blogging with Jott in the future. But I still love Jott as a tool to send myself reminders and send out emails, text messages. If you haven’t already, I’d suggest you check it out.
