Maxwell – Anonymously Ask a Loan Officer
Finally.
Someone is headed the right direction with giving consumers what they want: access to advice from trusted experts, on their terms (NOT giving up their contact information).
See the ask a loan officer page on Maxwell:
Well done. Granted, Maxwell only covers mortgages.
Now, if only a brokerage or franchise would deploy something similar for consumers to get local advice from professionals (I’ll keep beating the same drum)… Bueller? Redfin?
[FYI I found Maxwell via their acceptance into TechStars Boulder 2016]

Posted at 19:22h, 18 FebruaryKind of interesting that you have to give your contact information on an anonymous form. To me that is not anonymous, it is more like you can ask your question, get an answer, but we promise not to give your email to the lender so they start sending you follow-up emails.
The issue I see with this is it takes time to answer questions properly. Many agents and lenders do it because they hope the lead will turn into a client. If you don’t even have their email address and they do not even want to give it to you, there is very little chance of them becoming a client, thereby one might feel they are wasting their time responding.

Posted at 10:55h, 19 FebruaryRight, unless you do it live or use a cookie to keep them anonymous. We used live chat for a while and they did not have to provide their email, so that was 100% anonymous.
Live chat worked well sometimes, but for some reason these chat service have trouble knowing when I am not on the computer, so I would end up with leads wanting to chat, yet I was not there so I did not respond, so we stopped it.
If you use a cookie you would have to hope they will come back to get the answer without a reminder email. The cookie will know who they are without using contact info.
