In our latest Meet the Real Estate Tech Entrepreneur interview, I’m talking to Raj Singh of Tempo Smart Calendar.

Without wasting anymore time, here’s a bit from Raj…

What do you do?

I am the founder of Tempo AI, a Silicon Valley company and maker of Tempo Smart Calendar, a free iPhone app.  We’re thrilled that Tempo helps so many real estate professionals save time and hassles every day as they manage their demanding schedules on the go.

Tempo turns your mobile calendar into the ultimate dashboard. In a couple easy steps, you can connect Tempo to your personal and work calendars, address books, email accounts, and your LinkedIn and Facebook. Then just like an assistant, Tempo finds and neatly organizes relevant contact information, emails and documents in each event, so you have everything you need about a particular client or prospect no matter where you are.

Tempo also anticipates what you want to do so you don’t have to jump in and out of apps. Common tasks are done in one tap. For example, you can quickly dial into a conference call, send a “running late” text, get directions, read an email thread, or review the latest contract. There is an amazing amount of juggling in an agent’s life and Tempo is like having an assistant help keep the balls in motion.

Why do you do what you do?

I’ve been in the mobile industry for 13 years, and I love building products that delight and help people day-to-day. Tempo was born from my own experience in business development at a high-tech company. I know what it’s like to run from meeting to meeting with little time to prepare for what’s next. It’s a hundred little things that make the difference of feeling on top of your day. Do I know enough about new people I am meeting? Where’s the meeting and how do I get there? Where on earth is the passcode for the conference call?  What did we decide in that last email conversation?  I want to make preparing for what’s next seamless so you can focus on what really matters.

In fact, we’re on a mission to simplify a busy professional’s life by creating assistant experiences in our app that help them get more done.

What are you most excited about right now?

Time and time again, we hear how Tempo saves real estate professionals in a pinch – they can close one client’s deal while out showing another client properties.  We’ve had agents tell us that Tempo was the missing piece in their technology toolkit for going paperless.  But, I have to tell you, what really excites me is hearing agents describe Tempo like having an assistant to help them keep on track, informed and on time for their appointments.

The real estate profession is very much a relationship-based one, a people business. I like to think that Tempo Smart Calendar helps free up agents to have more face-to-face time with their clients. It excites me that we can help increase their productivity so they can strengthen their relationship with their clients.  When someone feels on top of their game it shows.

What’s next for you?

We’ve just begun and only scratched the surface. There are so many more cool features that we’ll be rolling out soon. You can expect us to connect more data to the calendar and streamline many more actions into a single tap.

What’s a cause you’re passionate about and why?

Well, it’s not exactly “a cause” but I am a passionate first-time Dad. We launched Tempo the same year that my son was born, so you can say it’s been a busy and sleepless year 🙂
