Meet the Real Estate Entrepreneur: Lorne Wallace
In our latest Meet the Real Estate Tech Entrepreneur interview, I’m talking to Lorne Wallace of Lone Wolf Real Estate Technologies.
Without wasting anymore time, here’s a bit more about Lorne…
What do you do?
I’m the CEO at Lone Wolf Real Estate Technologies, a company with a footprint in almost 10,000 real estate offices. My role is to envision the direction that our company should be heading as we continually work towards better and better solutions for our clients. So basically that means spending a lot of time paying attention to the industry, its needs and creating chaos with my staff by constantly forcing them outside of the box. And they are really good at organizing that chaos. “We’ve always done it that way” is something you’ll never hear at Lone Wolf.
Why do you do what you do?
Because after 25 years I still love it. My grandfather was a real estate agent, my Mom was a real estate agent, my sister and brother-in-law are brokers and I’ve been around the industry my whole life. Buying and selling real estate ranks up there high on the list of the most thrilling, nerve wracking and exciting things in people’s lives and it’s cool to be involved with it. I love the process and I think we really improve our client’s lives by giving them the tools to be more efficient and productive.
What are you most excited about right now?
We’ve been laying in the weeds growing our business, quietly developing our tools and growing our business for the last few years. But we’ve built a huge pipeline with our clients and the 230,000 agents they service and we are getting ready to push a lot of product down that pipe. With our new WOLFconnect, movingWOLF and agentWOLF, just to name a few, I think our Enterprise version will be the fully integrated experience that this industry screams for. Taking it from being inefficient in how it handles data, from the silozation of data that is just mind numbing, into a next generation of tools that not only improve the work life of our brokers and our agents, but enhance the value proposition of what they do for their customers, the buyers and sellers, is absolutely thrilling right now. It’s time to put the control of this industry back in the hands of the people who built it and I think we have the tools to do that.
What’s next for you?
We’ve doubled our booth space at NAR in November to 20×40 and we’re ready to launch. 10,000 offices and 250,000 agents is the goal and we are almost there. So what’s next is seeing the results of the years of hard work really come to fruition. And then doing it some more!
What’s a cause you’re passionate about and why?
Big Brothers / Big Sisters is our company charity. I coached my son in baseball for years and there were always the half dozen boys on my team without Dads and it used to break my heart. You become the role model for them for those months and you just realize how much they need someone to look up to. Everyone in life starts with the same potential and it really comes down to who they cross paths with to determine where they end up. I think the BBBS is a great organization that really helps have an impact in our society.
