Meet the Real Estate Tech Entrepreneur: Dan Hodges
In our latest real estate tech interview, I’m talking to Dan Hodges of Reach150, one of the companies in the REach incubator, which I’ve covered before here.
Without wasting anymore time, here’s a bit more from Dan…
What do you do?
Reach150 helps service professionals build their business by making it easy for their past clients and partners to recommend them. Consumers want to write about the great service they receive, but nobody has made it easy and relevant for them. Our clients receive recommendations at 100x the rate as online review sites and surveys. This content is then shared everywhere consumers can find it including Search Engines, Social Networks and industry vertical services. Reach150 is automated. By working with the brands, vendors and other services in the real estate industry, we are able to provide a service that measurably increases our client’s business with minimal effort.
Why do you do what you do?
We are passionate about helping service professionals build their personal brand and helping consumers identify who would be a good fit to provide them services. Current methods of rating and comparing real estate agents is an offshoot of product reviews. Over 1M real estate agents each with their own “features” is an overwhelming task for a comparison method. Instead, helping their reputation sell for them is the right approach. We provide the platform for quality agents to demonstrate their skills.
What are you most excited about right now?
Two things – We are beta testing a turnkey online advertising platform that will enable a real estate agent to push a button to take advantage of integrating several enterprise-class online and offline marketing channels in social media, search, display advertising and direct mail. This is going to be really cool.
Also, we have developed a comprehensive set of APIs that enable partners and clients to embed Reach150 content and functionality into their services. There are some neat new service and increase value for tradition services when you add consumer recommendations to agents profiles.
What’s next for you?
Continuing to grow Reach150 to its full potential. Our clients and partners continually provide feedback on how to improve on what we do. Staying ahead of their needs and figuring out how to solve their problems is an ongoing opportunity.
What’s a cause you’re passionate about and why?
Chicago Title in Santa Clara, CA introduced me to the Make a Wish Foundation. We support the cause as much as we can through their efforts. This limited involvement helped me understand that any help for kids and their families to get a chance at rewarding life experiences is important.
