In our latest Meet the Real Estate Tech Entrepreneur interview, I’m talking to Kamal Shah of FotoNotes.

Without wasting anymore time, here’s a bit more from him…

What do you do?

I’m the Founder and CEO of FotoNotes – a technology company providing mobile-first solutions for the real estate industry. Property and facilities managers, appraisers, and construction project managers use the FotoNotes platform to streamline operations and communicate more effectively. I lead the company and product vision. In collaboration with our veteran team, customers, and partners, I guide efforts to understand our customer’s problems and deliver innovative and practical products that solve those problems.

Why do you do what you do?

I’ve spent my career building software products and companies. I love developing solutions to solve big industry problems and also hopefully make people’s lives better. Being at the intersection of mobile technology and the massive real estate industry is very motivating and fulfilling.

What are you most excited about right now?

It’s incredible to see how mobile technology is changing how we live and how we work on a global scale. I’m excited about helping real estate-related companies leverage mobile to transform how they operate. There’s not better feeling than hear someone who is using FotoNotes say, “I love your product. Don’t ever take it away from me.”

What’s next for you?

Providing the real estate industry with the best mobile solutions on the market. If we continue to do that successfully, we’ll build a thriving, vibrant business, which is every entrepreneur’s dream. Everything changes fast in this industry, and our abilities to continually innovate and evolve our product are key differentiators.

What’s a cause you’re passionate about and why?

I’m passionate about helping young people from less than desirable circumstances improve their quality of life, more specifically, helping these kids get good paying jobs in the tech sector. There are thousands of exciting jobs in the Bay Area, and companies are bringing in people from all over the world to fill them. I’ve been working with a few non-profits that help kids get interested, inspired and motivated by technology; provide training and education; and put them on a career path they never dreamed they could have.
