In our latest Meet the Real Estate Tech Entrepreneur interview, we’re speaking with Zach Schabot of GoConnect. Here’s a bit more about him…

What do you do?

Zach-SchabotI helped start a company called Go Realty in 2010, but mainly, I help people buy and sell homes.  I have also published a children’s book about the process of building a new home. I love trying innovative approaches to the real estate business.  And I coach my 6 year old son’s baseball team. That’s my favorite thing to do.

Why do you do what you do?

This is the only industry I have ever known, I started selling new homes the Mondayafter graduating college and have done it ever since. I love being able to combine creativity, sales, marketing, business, and service.

What are you most excited about right now?

I am most excited about developing a new app for real estate agents called GoConnect.

What’s next for you?

Depends on how things go with the app. To paraphrase Nuke LaLoush from Bull Durham “I am just taking it one day at a time and hoping I can help the ball club.”

What’s a cause you’re passionate about and why?

I have two causes I support. Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Triangle and Stomp the Monster NC.  I have been involved with BBBS for almost 10 years as a mentor and a donor. They do great work for so many children and they are constantly finding ways to grow their operation and help more people!  Stomp is relatively new to NC but they help families of cancer patients who are going through chemo therapy. My dad went through chemo 6 years ago and it also takes a huge toll on the families, especially the primary care giver. Stomps provides small things that make a huge difference for those people who are experiencing financial hardship!  (ie money for groceries, new tires for a woman who had to drive herself to the doctor, etc etc).
