Meet the Real Estate Tech Entrepreneur: Ben McDougal from OpenOpen
In our latest real estate tech entrepreneur interview, we’re speaking with Ben McDougal from OpenOpen.
Without further ado…
Who are you and what do you do?
My name is Ben McDougal. I’m a tech founder, multimedia marketer, aspiring author and entrepreneurial ecosystem builder in our connected era
What problem does your product/service solve?
Open houses generate sales for home builders and create leads for real estate agents. While the value of open houses is clear, coordinating the ongoing schedule between multiple properties and a team of realtors became a recurring hassle.
We built OpenOpen as an internal workflow tool to save time and reduce confusion. This open house scheduler allowed our home building company to have more of our available properties open to the public. For agents, this mobile app made it easy to host more open houses, even if the home was not their own listing. The win/win results were remarkable, so our team commercialized the platform. Welcome to OpenOpen!
What are you most excited about right now?
Creating art that fuels positive change in a time where we can all do more with less. As an entrepreneur, I enjoy solving problems and building within a passionate and hard-working community of fellow founders. I’ve learned the energy of accelerating others is unmatched and while OpenOpen is a slick little tool built to do one thing well, it’s neat knowing our team is helping others continue to build.
What’s next for you?
Our friendly team is now onboarding early adopters. Who’s a good fit? Home builders who want to optimize their open house experience. Also, brokerage owners who are eager to differentiate their agency by expanding access to open house for their team of agents.
