This week, we interviewed Brian Patten from AcreBin.

Without further ado…

Who are you and what do you do?

My name is Brian Patten, and I am the Co-Founder and CEO of AcreBin. AcreBin.com is the online leader for hunting land, recreational land, timberland, and farmland for sale in the U.S. that’s addressing the long-awaited need in the real estate technology marketplace for a streamlined, customer-first process that guides buyers from researching the perfect acreage to closing – 100% free of charge.

Our mission is to fulfill every American’s inherent right of land ownership by simplifying the way we buy and sell land. Land ownership should be as accessible and as easy to understand as it is to buy a house, and AcreBin is striving to make that change.

I’ve been in the land business for over 2 decades and started my career working with National Land Partners in Knoxville, TN. As the 4th generation in my family to be in the business, I believe that everyone should own land regardless of the size, as land ownership is land conservation.

What problem does your product/service solve?

Currently, 60% of the land offered for sale is not on the most popular land listing websites, which causes the prospective buyer to jump around to different sites in search of their perfect acreage. Oftentimes, this results in buyers dropping out of the market altogether. AcreBin offers 1.5 million acres of available land on our marketplace and unlike other listing sites, we are completely free to use for both buyers and sellers. Our marketplace eliminates this barrier to entry for buyers while serving as an all-in-one hub for anyone interested in land to find land for sale, while guiding them through the process

It currently takes a land buyer more than 9 months to find their perfect piece of property to buy. Our mission is to introduce buyers and sellers faster creating a win-win, sellers will convert their land to cash and buyers can stop searching and start enjoying sooner.
.
By blending our cutting edge technology with an expert approach to buying and selling land, we aim to make land ownership more streamlined and approachable for all.

What are you most excited about right now?

Right now is a great time to be in the land business and it’s really exciting. It’s a good time to own land, to buy land, to sell land.

As a result of the pandemic, we’re seeing an uptick in people moving out to the suburbs and away from metropolitan areas in search of more space, affordability, and isolation. Now that many workforces have moved fully remote and virtual, there’s a shift in that people have more freedom and flexibility in where they can live. People are choosing to Work-From-Home and Work-From-Rural now.

What’s next for you?

AcreBin will kick off our seed-funding round in the next 6 months and will also be focusing on increasing listing acquisitions by connecting to real estate brokerages and companies. We aim to add more listings to the platform to truly be the one-stop-shop for land, whether you’re looking for hunting land, recreational land, timberland, or farmland.

We’re also working on increasing organic traffic to AcreBin.com to bring buyers looking for land to our website and the land we have for sale.

What’s a cause you’re passionate about and why?

Looking into the future, I’d love to integrate AcreBin with a non-profit that’s actively working to reduce food deserts in urban areas. It’s very important to bring healthy and affordable food to those who otherwise can’t afford it or don’t have access.
