dancorkhillIn our latest Meet the Real Estate Tech Entrepreneur interview, we’re speaking with Dan Corkill of Follow Up Boss. After reading the interview — those who know me well, will know exactly what caught my interest. Hint: it involves microfinance.

Here’s a bit more about him, from his own mouth…

What do you do?

I run a company called Follow Up Boss, it helps real estate agents and teams in the US and Canada systemize their business, specifically their lead flow. Day to day I’m working with our customers and our team to make sure their real estate businesses are running as smoothly as possible.

Why do you do what you do?

We found a massive problem when we interviewed real estate teams, most have several lead providers, websites and CRM type systems. The problem is they aren’t working together and most real estate agents are leaving way too much money on the table by not following up.

Everyone is obsessed with where they can get leads, we are obsessed with converting the leads you do get.

What are you most excited about right now?

We’ve recently made some great hires and are enjoying the challenges of taking our company to the next level. Having great people and systems in place makes life much easier.

What’s next for you?

We are working with a number of partners like bettervoicemail.com and placester.com, we’re always looking for ways to make our customers existing systems play better together.

What’s a cause you’re passionate about and why?

I’m really interested in micro entrepreneurship funding sites like kiva.org, being an entrepreneur is tough but nothing compared to needing to make your business work in countries with poor infrastructure. In the first world if you fail you go back and try again, in other countries if you fail you might not be able to eat that month.

I also find it inspiring that all my loans are continually paid back. While in countries like the USA and Australia defaulting on obligations is common.
