Meet The Real Estate Tech Entrepreneurs: Christine Wendell and KC Crosby
This week, we interviewed Christine Wendell and KC Crosby from Pronto Housing.
Let’s get to it!
Who are you and what do you do?
We’re Christine Wendell and KC Crosby, Co-Founders of Pronto Housing, the first & only off-the-shelf affordable housing compliance Software-as-a-Service platform, ensuring a higher-quality of living is accessible for the more than 11M Americans facing housing instability, while enabling asset managers to meet their financial goals.
What problem does your product/service solve?
Whether it is amid initial lease-up or annual compliance, owners and renters alike have historically faced slow and painful processes rife with uncertainty and risk. We’re laser-focused on ensuring a quick and easy process for both sides of the equation. By automating compliance for today’s US affordable housing programs, we reduce this friction, automating manual data entry and increasing transparency for asset managers and renters alike.
What are you most excited about right now?
Our SaaS platform is currently available in Beta with approximately 2,000 units onboarded, for property owners including Housing Trust Group, Lemor Development, as well as Laramar. We’re most excited to continue to add units across the country and provide a key, long-lasting solution to a critical, national problem: the housing crisis. Safe and stable housing is the foundation for people to engage with their community; facilitating that is our drive.
What’s next for you?
Over the next six-months, we’re hyper focused on utilizing funds from our seed round to continue to build out our state-of-the-art platform and recruit top-talent to support our growth and create a heightened level of service to users. We aim to be available to the larger US market post our series A. We’re anticipating starting to raise in 2022.
What’s a cause you’re passionate about and why?
Christine: I care a lot about prison reform and particularly the foster care to prison pipeline. There is a huge need for more humane responses to aid in healing people who are in or going through the foster care and prison systems in the US.
KC: One area where I’ve spent a lot of time is around children/adolescents with addiction issues. Addressing earlier in life provides opportunities for these children to grow into adults that will lead productive, fulfilling lives.
