Finding Your Online Voice
There is no silver bullet when it comes to your online voice. It requires that you write, write, write, write — and then write some more.
For some it comes instantly, and for others it takes months or years to develop. If you grew up liking to write, then chances are good you’ll develop your online voice relatively quickly. Remember, if you don’t like to write in the traditional sense, video or photo blogging are certainly options for you.
Read more than you write, particularly early on in your blogging career. It’s a great way to get a good feel for how others express themselves online and what type of writing resonates with you.
Write about your passions. If you don’t genuinely care about what you’re writing about, it’s going to come through to your readers. Forced blogging does not generally produce great results.

Blogging Etiquette
Link early and link often. Linking out is one of the best forms of marketing your blog that you can do. Dustin Luther, founder of Rain City Guide, penned Linkation, Linkation, Linkation back in 2005, which is still very relevant today. When you link to other bloggers, they will notice. Trust me.
Don’t steal other people’s content. Cite the source of your ideas or questions if you find them online. Not only are you giving credit where credit is due, but you’re also marketing your blog and yourself in the process by linking to another blog.
Admit Your Mistakes Quickly and Publicly. In the online world, there is nothing worse than making a mistake and denying or avoiding it. Confront it head on, get your message out there, and take responsibility for your actions. If you ignore the issue, the only side of the story out there publicly will be the other side’s story.
Be personal, but professional.
