Posted at 04:34h, 29 JuneI have been looking high and low for an IDX “vendor” willing to customize their offering. Searchless (browse-only) “IDX-lite.” So far, no takers. I guess doing things “simpler” is too difficult for them. Prospective buyers/sellers aren’t interested in all the decoration and distraction. I’ll provide the context, I just need the facts, sir/madam … in a raw form that doesn’t burden the cell-frequency airwaves and the prospect’s patience.

Having been in the world of software as a service – I understand where they are coming from with not wanting to customize. In the development world, you either end up with full custom (very expensive) or templated (cheap, but not full customizable). Everything in the middle is generally people who want full custom service/quality without a willingness to pay for it.

A thought piece like Rob’s would take me much longer than it takes him I think. Some people have the gift of being able to write really long pieces in a single sitting, quickly… I’m not one of them. And meanwhile, spending several hours doing that doesn’t help move Horizon forward or pay any of my bills. So…will have to wait for a rainy day 🙂
