Using Tags To Make Yourself Seen On MyBlogLog
Since we began indexing tags within the search feature of MyBlogLog, we’ve seen a drastic improvement in the reliability of results. Finally, a user can search for ‘phoenix arizona real estate‘, and really get blogs and sites that relate to real estate in Phoenix. As a real estate consumer searching for local experts writing about their area, that’s pretty cool.To make sure your blog/site shows up favorably within our results, try these tactics.
1. Determine Your Keywords
Which keywords are your aim? You might list things like ‘real estate’ and the cities in which you do business. Don’t forget to list any popular phrases that your city is known for… If you live in San Francisco, you might list ‘bay area’, ‘east bay’ and ‘silicon valley’; if you live in Chicago, you might list ‘windy city’, making sure all of your possible search terms are found.
2. Tag Your Site and Your Profile With These Tags
Sign in and add each of your chosen tags to your profile and blog on MyBlogLog.
3. Enlist Help
Ask your friends and readers to also add tags that are relevant to your site. Remember, don’t ask them to tag you with certain words, just ask them to add tags that will describe your site. Those natural, organic tags are most likely to be the ones that your potential searchers will be looking to find. Your readers may end up stumbling upon the best tags for you.
Now, this isn’t perfect. As we go forward you’ll likely find many more secrets to ranking well within the thousands of blogs on MyBlogLog. We’re learning too. The main point is that I know now that finally we can search for ‘health’ and find blogs related to health. For a real estate broker, this is powerful. Heck, for any of us trying to do business on the web, this is powerful.
Take time to create a tagging strategy, just as you create an SEO strategy. None of us can afford to be invisible on the web.

One problem with MBL tags though… you have to search for an *exact* tag someone used.
For example, searching for “phoenix real estate” returns different results than searching “phoenix arizona real estate”
MBL really needs to get it so that someone searching tags doesn’t have to be quite so precise. Otherwise, tag lists are going to grow into unmanageable lists…
