skylinespartanI graduated from Skyline High School in 2001. My 4 years there have left me many fond memories. We even won the state football championship my senior year.

Yet, I have no freaking idea what is happening at Skyline 13 years later. I know we’ve won a state championship or two (or three?), but no idea what years. Did we win state championships in other sports? Did any sports players make the pros? Get full college scholarships? Make a million dollars? Start a tech company? Serve in the armed services? Any famous scientists? Peace Corps volunteers?

An idea for those looking for a way to add value to people in your extended network in the hopes of growing your sphere….

Send an email once per year (NOT 2x or 3x or 4x unless specifically requested) to every single person in your high school graduation class, summarizing the achievements of your high school for that particular year.

Bam. Simple. Valuable.

If someone who attended high school with me (who happens to be a real estate agent) sends me an email sometime in 2014, I would appreciate it. The goal? Make me not look like a total idiot next time I happen across someone from Skyline, and they strike up a conversation about what is happening at Skyline. In fact, I will actually tell THEM where I got my tidbits of information, and may let it slip that you are a real estate agent.

Bueller?
