Cool Stuff Free: Google Page Speed Service

cool-stuff-to-doGoogle Page Speed Service has been around for a number of years. It is in Beta and currently free of charge (it has been free for several years now).  Upon the official release Google Page Speed Service pricing will be competitive.

So how does it work?  Google servers dynamically rewrite your code for “Best Practices” and serves the optimized content dynamically using Google Servers throughout the world.  A quick YouTube summary: Google Page Speed Technical Overview

I have tried the service and did not see any improvement.  This is not a knock on the service at all, I have highly optimized my landing pages.  So if there had been an improvement it would have been a very pleasant surprise.

Setup is very easy. It took me less than 10 minutes.  For now it is by invitation only. You can apply here Page Speed Invitation Request

Give it a try and share your results.
