3rd Website Participant for Geek Build 2012 – Greg Fischer
My name is Greg Fischer and I want to build the best real estate brokerage in Fort Worth, Texas. Fort Worth is a beautiful and dynamic city which is experiencing incredible growth. I am thrilled to be launching Fischer Real Estate Services and look forward to providing expertise, advice, and service to those moving in the Fort Worth area. I’ve been involved in real estate for 6 years and absolutely love working with people to find or sell their home and helping them to close the deal. My experience in Fort Worth is in the historic neighborhood’s near downtown and in the growing suburban areas of the city which are popular for their excellent schools.
I served for 6 years in the Navy on active duty and continue to do so on a part-time basis in the reserves. My military experience is in aviation on helicopters and airplanes, and interestingly, I’ve never worked on a ship. I also stay busy as an MBA student at TCU. Business school has been fun and is definitely keeping me on my toes!
My website, www.fischer-realestate.com, has been active for a few months and receives about 1,000 visitors monthly. Diverse Solutions provides the IDX and I’ve built the current site on WordPress using the Genesis framework. I consistently show up in the top of search results for individual property addresses, MLS #’s, and other various search results related to Fort Worth real estate, but my bounce rate is at 81% and the average visit lasts only 1 minute and 30 seconds.
My goal for the website redesign is to build an attractive, easily navigable, and content-rich website. I’d like to include a regular blog, neighborhood profiles, informational articles, and dynamic search capabilities. My goal is to dramatically increase the traffic and conversion rate while also positioning Fischer Real Estate Services as a leading Fort Worth real estate brokerage. I am committed to improving the design and content of the site and am thankful for the opportunity to work with Geek Estate Community on this project!
Summary:
- Redesign or New: Redesign
- Geographic Focus: Fort Worth, TX
Note from the Editor: Not sure what Geek Build 2012 is? It’s building a few real estate websites from scratch publicly with the help of the Geek Estate Community and overseen by an experienced steering committee. Posted at 19:41h, 18 FebruaryHey Greg sounds like you need a complete over haul.. 80% bounce rate is ridiculous!! We have been able to help agents get a 300% to 1000% higher conversion rate using our IDX 🙂 You might want to check it out http://www.realgeeks.com/clients/ The system has helped my online conversion rate as well 🙂
I hope it all works out for you!!

Posted at 18:17h, 19 FebruaryHey Greg, I just checked out your blog, and I noticed you don’t have comments turned on for some of the posts. I’ve found allowing a conversation to happen can increase the amount of time people spend on your site. You have some great content, let us talk about it!

Posted at 20:35h, 20 FebruaryEric, good point. I think at first I decided to disable comments because I was worried about spam. I want to load Disqus or something similar and definitely will soon. Thanks for the feedback on this.

Posted at 10:06h, 20 FebruaryYour IDX will be one of the IDX’s we consider for all these Geek Build sites

Posted at 20:36h, 20 FebruaryJeff, thanks for the suggestion. I’m willing to look at options that will help me on the conversion, but honestly I know that there is a lot of work for me to do internally on the site to encourage contact and conversion. I’m a fan of Diverse Solutions so far, but I’m willing to listen and explore other IDX for this project.
