big_ideaThere are a lot of big ideas out there in the real estate industry, some of which are likely to slowly iterate from ideas into reality. There are even real day to day pain points still unsolved.

  • AgentMatch is the current rage. Literally, rage. There is opportunity for a brokerage, franchise, or MLS to build some iteration of this on their own — like HAR & Redfin tried to do.
  • @gent App (by @Properties in Chicago) – I didn’t know this existed prior to several weeks ago. It’s clear more brokerages and franchises are likely to experiment with apps that help their agents communicate and share listings & intel in a private, trusted environment.
  • Homing In and Curb Call – we’re going to see a lot of mobile app plays in the buyer-agent connection space by brokerages, franchises, and technology titans & startups. I think superior consumer experiences delivered with apps along with the fact that there are always agents willing to pay to meet buyers, will drive it forward.
  • A real estate industry social network. Is someone going to take a real crack at this? Does it already exist in a niche, and just hasn’t bubbled up to the mainstream?
  • Lastly, my absurd Travel Concierge App idea. I would love someone bold to try this.

What other big ideas are lingering, that are missing from this list? What’s your big bet for 2014?

Note: If you are at brokerage, franchise, or technology startup contemplating one of these ideas (or your own not on this list), but don’t have the in-house technology team to execute on your vision — Cloudspace can help. They’ve been doing web and mobile development since 1996.
