In my first post creative link building real estate 101 I spoke about how you could build links through relationships within your community. Another great relationship I didn’t mention is with your local news, or any type of press for that matter.

One of the things I am constantly doing with my brokerage is creating some noteworthy event.

  • Merger with another brokerage.
  • New office location.
  • New features on website.
  • Sponsoring events.

When these newsworthy events happen, I email a press release to my list of local and industry news contacts. If you’re lucky enough, a newspaper and/or magazine will print your story. As you know, most of these publications have websites and often times your story will go on their site too.

Local blogs are another great place to send your press releases to. If they cover your event, you’re sure to get a link back!
