In our latest real estate tech entrepreneur interview, we’re speaking with the co-founder of Roomeze, Jordan Davidovit.

Without further ado…

What do you do?

Roomeze is changing the way people think about shared living by providing a worry-free, pre-vetted room(mate) search experience. Roomeze provides users with awesome rooms and like minded roommates, all while guiding them through the entire rental process. In doing so, we help landlords quickly fill these units and reduce vacancy rates.

Roomeze is a vertically integrated solution, ranging from sourcing and optimizing a property, finding and matching roommates, executing a lease signing, and managing the tenant-management relationship after move-in.

What problem does your product/service solve?

It’s become too expensive for young professionals and students to live by themselves in high density urban cities. Many are new to the city, cannot afford to live alone, and have trouble finding their own roommates.

Our competitors have taken a behind the scenes approach. They don’t account for the logistical struggle of finding the right place with another entirely separate party. Even if you manage to connect with another roommate, the burden of agreeing upon a place, pricing the rooms fairly, and coordinating with each others’ schedules, all while navigating the dark waters of New York real estate, is entirely left in your hands. In most cases, this is where things will ultimately break down. Roomeze is your one stop shop to find, sign and create the room of your dreams with people who share your passions.

What are you most excited about right now?

I believe your life begins with your home. Our goal is to help people find, sign and create the home of their dreams. By giving people transparency, accessibility and flexibility into designing their ideal living situation we are creating a whole new world of possibilities. Imagine being able to move anywhere in the world with people who share your preferences, goals, personality or hobbies. Imagine not only moving into an apartment but a community, where you can find a job, or make lasting friendships. In New York we have already helped thousands of people find homes and have created many lasting relationships. I can’t wait until we can bring this service to the rest of the world.

What’s next for you?

I make a conscious effort to live in the present and not focus too heavily on the future. This isn’t to say that I don’t have clear goals for my future but I feel it’s important to appreciate your current state. That being said if I were to imagine life after Roomeze it would definitely include another business venture.

What’s a cause you’re passionate about and why?

In addition to revolutionizing the way humans find homes, we also can’t forget about our furry friends. We’re passionate about puppies and don’t care who knows it. We just recently sponsored a Rescue the Runway event that promoted pet adoption by having adoptable dogs walk down a catwalk, fashion-week style.

We also deeply care about our environment. Being in real estate, we have a genuine opportunity to help change the way people live in a healthier, greener way. If and when we start building our own Roomeze properties, everything will be done through an environmentally friendly lens.
