In our latest real estate tech entrepreneur interview, we’re speaking with Logan Ransley from Landlord Studio.

Without further ado…

Who are you and what do you do?

I’m a co-founder of Landlord Studio – a software platform designed specifically to help rental property owners track their income and expenses for tax time. Specifically, I am focused on helping our customers get the most out of our platform, and building strategies for engaging new members.

What problem does your product/service solve?

For landlords who are self-managing their rental properties, our platform offers a purpose-built method of tracking income and expenses, harnessing automation including open banking to streamline payment tracking and management. The software is designed as a globally-applicable alternative to the patchwork of tools currently used by landlords self-managing their properties, including accounting software, cash-in-hand or direct debit payments, and spreadsheets.

In addition to financial tracking, Landlord Studio assists with property management by automating workflow and centralizing information to offer a full-service cloud-based solution that can be used across desktop and mobile.

What are you most excited about right now?

I’m very excited about our feature roadmap for 2021. Particularly right now in the time of Covid, there’s a real need to create solutions that minimize the call for in-person contact between tenants and landlords, as well as empower tenants to better manage their own payments through a streamlined and digital format. Our Online Rent Collection has been the most important feature released to help us solve these issues.

What’s next for you?

We’ve got an exciting plan for 2021. This includes a fundraise, overall team expansion, and push to grow our userbase and provide more value to them. Since day one, our team has committed to a long-term mission of becoming the world’s best property management and financial tracking solution for “do-it-yourself” landlords.

What’s a cause you’re passionate about and why?

I’m very passionate about our forests. Originally I’m from New Zealand which has beautiful and elegant landscapes. I grew up around our natural forestry and it’s been something I’ve been passionate about protecting so we can enjoy it long term. Alongside that, I thoroughly enjoy working with young entrepreneurs to help them inspire change in the world.
