Proptech Job Opportunity: Founding Team Growth/BD at LiveNearFriends
We have a job opportunity to share from a member of GEM Diamond, LiveNearFriends, a social real estate platform that allows people to find housing within a short walk of friends and family.
LiveNearFriends is hiring someone to drive Business Development / Growth. This is a full-time role in the San Francisco Bay Area (no remote candidates). You will work in person with Phil, the CEO, at least 3 days a week.
You own our user funnel from initial interest to eventual purchase or rental of a home. This means growing both a) the number of groups that want to live near each other and b) the number of people involved in each group. You will then need to employ strategies to get them over the hump of taking action by buying or renting homes.
They have ambitious year 1 targets and the person in this role will have to work hard to achieve them.
You will first focus on cracking the code in their initial focus market (the Bay Area) and then create the playbook to replicate it in other markets. One possible path: If successful, the role could mature to oversee operations across several key markets regionally or nationally.
Role Responsibilities:
- Own the user funnel and be responsible for our adoption success metrics.
- Develop a network of licensed real estate agents to become local “LiveNearFriends” advisors.
- Do the “things that don’t scale” to gain early adoption in the Bay Area. Get scrappy. Meet with individual users and help them design their optimal lifestyle near friends or family.
- Come up with a replicable playbook to launch LiveNearFriends in future geographic markets.
- Write and distribute content on the benefits and ways to live near friends. Hypercharge the meme.
- Work with engineering and design teammates to help with product-led growth and virality.

- Highly organized. You can manage a user funnel. You are good at knowing how to follow up at the right times. And you are proactive in doing so. You naturally create systems and processes.
- Prepared to ride all the highs and lows of an early-stage startup.
How They Will Evaluate Candidates:
- Mandatory:
- Proven ability to hustle and cultivate an early user base
- Relevant experience in comparable roles
- Strong references who will gush about how great you are
- In-person in the Bay Area
- Desirable but not required:
- Experience in real estate – particularly buying and selling homes
- Experience with performance marketing
- Experience in content marketing
- Experience in content marketing
- You have helped organize friends or family to live near you
