The Most Impressive Local Content Effort I’ve Seen by an Agent
Yesterday I wrote about going deep on content in 2014. Today, I found an amazing example of deep local content certainly worth highlighting.
Raziel Ungar in Burlingame, CA.
There are teams and brokerages scattered across the country who have done good work in the local content and video arena, but Raziel has undertaken the best content effort I’ve seen from an agent in the 8 years I’ve been involved in this industry.
Take a careful look at the community pages on his site. For example, Burlingame, Burlingame Gardens (neighborhood), Hillsborough, and Millbrae.
The detailed maps are a HUGE point of differentiation. I’ve never seen a visually appealing integration like what Raziel has done.
Other things I noticed:
- Monthly market analysis
- Videos
- School boundary maps
- Historical information
Not to mention his BurlingameBuzz effort, which contains unique documentary style short films all about Burlingame. He features a wide array of community organizations, locally owned small businesses & restaurants, residents, community leaders, and schools. Here’s one example:
After seeing content on his site, the bar is set high for the rest of the industry.
It’s all about quality, not quantity.
Well done, Raziel.

When scrolling the site the page data shows up jumbled with the menu. A minor issue but something that should be fixed to give it a more professional look.
I have seen these types of maps before but I prefer to use Google Maps rather than a static map image. I think Google Maps offers advantages such as being able to zoom in and out, move around, satellite view, etc.
It is disappointing to see Zillow, Trulia, Realtor.com, and redfin as the 2 through 5th search result for Burlingame Real Estate. This site has much better local content but still comes up 3rd from the bottom.
I have around the same position although I used to be #1. I wonder if they were bumped down too in some of Google’s latest changes.
The search on this site needs to be fixed. You put in your price range and there is no search button to hit to get results. If you hit the search icon then you get to see a search button, but then the price range you put in is erased, which is annoying.
I would be concerned someone would come for the content, then once they review it, leave to other sites who have a better search.

I really doubt an agent will EVER have the best search, so that’s a concern regardless of what search you have. Search is going to mobile, and Z/T/Redfin/R.com have largely already won that game.

Posted at 14:49h, 04 JanuaryI am not suggesting having the best search, but I mentioned the search does not work right, and that might cause people to look at other options.
Where do you get your data those big sites have already won the mobile market? I would like to understand that more.
Thanks

Posted at 00:21h, 15 JanuaryAgree the content is awesome. The site was designed by a San Francisco creative agency which does not appear to do any SEO. Any website has two audiences, the human visitor AND the search engine. This site fails to address the search engine audience so the rankings suffer and thus people are not seeing this great content. The site is ranked 2.7 million worldwide and has less than 400 backlinks. How someone can invest so much in their site and do ZERO optimization is beyond me. BTW, what is your site URL, I can tell you why you dropped
