Google Authorship and IDX – Are you doing it right?

by Mike McGee on 6:19 am June 24, 2013

Lots of agents, brokers and real estate web masters are implementing Google authorship markup on their websites and blogs. It’s a great way to get increased visibility in the SERPs, improve CTR, boost your personal branding and claim your original content as your own. However, too many agents I see are implementing authorship incorrectly, which can get them in a heap of trouble. How so? Many site owners are simply inserting the rel=”author” tag site-wide. For single-author websites/blogs this might seem to make sense, since … Read More »

dsIDXpress PRO, Now at Your Disposal

by Drew Meyers on 1:43 pm August 1, 2012

In case you’ve missed the news from yesterday, dsIDXpress PRO (from Diverse Solutions) is now available. dsIDXpress was cool. And, though I haven’t personally played with the new product, based on the blog post on Diverse Solutions’ blog, dsIDXpress PRO looks awesome. Everything that was missing from dsIDXpress — chiefly forced and delayed registration settings (aka lead capture) — is now included in dsIDXpress PRO. Previously, leap capture features were only features included in dsSearchAgent. I know for a fact agents have been asking for that … Read More »

The world of IDX can be confusing and the process of getting IDX up and running on your real estate website is one mountain of many in getting your business seen and loved by customers.  Don’t fret, though, being an informed consumer … Read More »

IDX – Official Steering Committee Decision

by Daniel Beer on 11:35 pm April 2, 2012

After a very long and strongly debated case over who should be the official IDX recommendation of the Geek Build Steering Committee, we have decided on Real Geeks. Remember, the focus of Geek Build is to build websites with the following goals in mind: Maximize lead generation (signups, blog or IDX) Maximize lead conversion (phone calls, requests for showings, specific property requests, track closings from site long-term) Maximize time on site, page views/visit Minimize bounce rate Conversion is the most important aspect of an IDX, particularly … Read More »

Best IDX for WordPress Multisite?

by Drew Meyers on 8:00 am March 30, 2012

I have a random question for the TRUE geeks today. For those with experience building and running WordPress multisite networks, I wanted to get your feedback on your opinion of which IDX solution is best for a multisite instance powering dozens of sites on different URLs? While working at Virtual Results, we ran Diverse Solutions’ dsIDXpress on our multisite network (affiliate link). Aside from about 30 minutes of messing around the the IDX Broker plugin (and not succeeding), I don’t have experience working with any other … Read More »

Votes from the Community for the Best IDX Provider

by BenFisher on 10:29 am March 25, 2012

Since the majority of conversions on real estate agent and broker websites occur by funneling buyers into a compelling search experience, choosing an IDX provider is the most important decision to be made during Geek Build 2012. After a great deal of discussion, we’re almost to the end of the evaluation process. Below is the voting breakdown for the 5 IDX providers (Diverse Solutions, Real Geeks, Displet, IDX Broker, iHomeFinder) that were put on the table about 2 weeks ago as possible solutions for Geek … Read More »

Geek Build 2012 IDX Review #3 – Displet

by Trace Lee on 8:05 pm March 23, 2012

When I decided to redesign my Colorado Springs real estate site, I didn’t realize it would take as long as it did. I demo’ed pretty much every web design & IDX product on the market, and ultimately landed on Displet. When making my IDX decision, there were a few “must haves” that Displet met, which is why I chose them: The IDX had to integrate well into a custom website. I wanted the ability to heavily integrate the IDX into the site through a quick … Read More »

Calling IDX Customers of iHomeFinder, Real Geeks, Displet, and IDX Broker

by Drew Meyers on 9:42 am March 21, 2012

The steering committee for Geek Build 2012 would absolutely love to have an IDX Review for each of the 5 IDX providers still on the table prior to making a final recommendation. Daniel Bacon has written a full review of Diverse Solutions, but there are 4 more IDX providers to be covered. If you have first hand experience using Real Geeks, Displet, iHomeFinder, or IDX Broker AND you are willing to write up a review that includes pros and cons (similar to Daniel’s post) — please … Read More »

by Daniel Bacon on 9:19 pm March 20, 2012

This is the first of several posts relating to the IDX solutions that are on the table for Geek Build 2012, and focuses on my experience with Diverse Solutions. This post is meant to start a dialogue relating to the pros and cons of their products as contenders for the Geek Build 2012 websites. I have used Diverse Solutions’ products for over two years now, both their dsSearchAgent and dsIDXpress products. dsSearchAgent is their primary product and is a map-based search tool. dsIDXpress is an … Read More »
