Start Asking Questions (Long-Tail Keyword Optimization)

by Justin Bartlett on 1:44 am August 3, 2010

Long-tail optimization is the process by which webmasters look for easy to rank for keywords that will send traffic. Usually “long-tail” keywords are multiple words that a googler may search for that have relatively little to no competition from other websites.  A good example of a long tail keyword might be “zillow mortgage marketplace help” or something of that nature. The idea behind long tail optimization is very simple – if you’ve got a relatively high ranking website, simply writing a new post or new … Read More »

Accept Pay?? Amex? Huh?

by Justin Bartlett on 11:22 pm June 10, 2010

So I guess at some point this year American Express came out with an online payment gateway, Accept Pay. From what I can see it looks like it kicks the crap out of pay pal – direct invoicing and receiving funds same day. Why wasn’t I told about this? I did a little bit of hunting and there aren’t any press releases on the net or on Amex’s main page that I can see; Anyone here using it / have any insight into it?

by Justin Bartlett on 10:47 pm January 20, 2010

Taking a look at blogs around the internet there’s really one factor that sets the good ones apart from the bad, and that’s simply the depth of discussion on the content (posts) on that blog. Beyond the content on the blog itself, the template, et. al., there are a couple of simple plugins that can really encourage good comments and discussions. I’m in luv with, well you guess it, Comment Luv. As an avid blogger, I enjoy getting feedback and comments from visitors; it tells … Read More »

by Justin Bartlett on 1:44 pm January 6, 2010

The combination of every awesome web 2.0 technique and web 3.0 technique I know I like to think of as web 3.1… I realized as I started writing there’s simply too much information to cover in one post, so I’m going to split this bad boy up into a couple of posts; In this post I’m going to cover WordPress, logo design and theme selection. First things first, I love WordPress. There are a number of blogging and CMS platforms out there – Joomla, Blogger, … Read More »

by Justin Bartlett on 1:04 pm December 30, 2009

No one likes comment spam. Here’s a humorous look at comment spam and a couple of rules to help avoid being a comment spammer. Be nice, this is my first attempt at a whimsical post 😀 Get a gravatar. If your name actually is “Buy Cialis”, you must be very, very young and your parents must have a horrible, horrible sense of humor. Join a discussion. Talk about something. “Closet Spam” or … Read More »
